A photograph fills an album page — the Moon landing, the Taj Mahal, a portrait of Marie Curie — and chat races to type what they’re looking at. The chip under the photo says which kind of thing it is (”🗼 A landmark”), but the name, the year, and the story wait for the reveal, when the caption inks itself in under the print.
Common names count. The answer set carries the aliases a live chat actually shouts — “moon landing” works for Apollo 11, “big ben” for Elizabeth Tower, “pyramids” for the Giza complex — so knowing what you’re looking at beats knowing its formal title.
Gameplay
The photo drops onto the page with its category chip. Nothing else — no title, no year, no caption. If the host set a timer, the countdown bar starts draining.
No command needed. In the default scoring, the first correct answer takes the page and the round ends. In fastest worth more, the window stays open: everyone who names it scores, and quicker answers earn more.
At reveal the print gets its caption — the name and the year — plus the photo’s archive credit. A page nobody names still turns; the reveal is the consolation.
Late joiners are welcome — a viewer’s first guess joins them automatically.
The albums
Three albums, one deck: Moments in history (the Wright brothers’ first flight, the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Hindenburg), Landmarks (Machu Picchu, Stonehenge, the Golden Gate), and Historical figures (Lincoln, Einstein, Frida-era portraits and painted faces from before photography). Around seventy photos, drawn without repeats within a session; the host can scope a session to one album or mix them.
Every photo is a free-licensed Wikimedia image — public domain or Creative Commons — and the reveal shows its credit line. Famous press photos that are still under copyright simply aren’t in the deck; the bank is built so that rule can’t be bent quietly.

The hint gift uncovers letters of the answer (~10% per send, at most 70% — the last letters are always typed), resetting with every photo.
Layout
- Marquee — game title and a rotating how-to hint.
- Page header — album strip, page number, and the round clock when a timer is set.
- Leaderboard — top namers so far, by rounds won (or points in fastest mode).
- The print — the photo, mounted with corner tabs; its caption inks in at reveal.
- Clue row — the category chip, plus the letter mask and hint-gift chip once gifts have uncovered letters.
- Reveal line — who named it and how fast, with the photo’s archive credit underneath.
The game moves through Lobby → Round → Revealed → Finished, once per photo.
Scoring
- First to name it — one winner per page; most pages named across the session wins. Ties are co-winners.
- Fastest worth more — every correct answer scores by arrival: 10 / 7 / 5, then 3 for everyone else who got it before the reveal. Highest points wins the session.
