Higher or Lower

Predict whether the next card is higher or lower

Category: Trivia · Players: free-for-all · Status: Stable

Higher or Lower shows two cards. The left card’s value is visible; the right card’s is hidden. Chat predicts whether the hidden value is higher or lower, the host reveals it, and — depending on the mode — wrong guessers are eliminated or everyone banks points. It’s one of the featured games and a staple of tournament mode.

Gameplay

1
Join

Viewers type !join to appear on the lobby roster, or just vote — the first vote joins them automatically.

2
Vote each round

Two cards appear. The left (anchor) shows its value; the right (challenger) is hidden. Chat votes by typing:

  • higherh, higher, up, or ⬆
  • lowerl, lower, down, or ⬇

One vote per person per round; re-typing doesn’t change your vote.

3
Reveal

The host reveals the challenger. If it’s higher, “higher” voters are correct; if lower, “lower” voters are correct. Equal values are a tie — everyone who voted is credited and no one is eliminated.

4
Next round

The challenger slides over to become the new anchor, a fresh challenger is drawn, and the next round begins.

How rounds resolve

Each round is a single comparison — the anchor’s known value against the hidden challenger’s. Your vote is a bet on which way that comparison falls.

Vote higher or lower on the hidden card; the reveal decides who was right
  • The anchor is your reference. Its value is shown; the challenger’s stays hidden until the reveal. All you’re judging is whether that hidden value lands above or below the anchor.
  • Values come from the category. Creators rank by follower count, countries by a stat, movies by box office, gifts by diamond value — so “higher” always means the same measurable thing within a session.
  • The reveal splits the room. Correct callers stay in (or score); wrong callers are eliminated (or simply miss the point). An exact tie spares everyone.

Category. Sets the pool each pair is drawn from — creators by follower count, countries by a stat, movies by box office, or TikTok gifts by diamond value. One category per session.

Scoring. How the round plays out and who wins:

  • elimination (default) — a stadium round. Wrong voters and anyone who didn’t vote drop out each reveal; a tie spares everyone. The roster locks on the first reveal, and the last player standing wins (or the round ends when the deck runs out).
  • points — nobody is eliminated. Every correct call scores a point, the roster stays open to latecomers, and play continues until the pool is exhausted. The highest score wins; ties share the crown.

Movie ratings. Shown only for the Movies category. Restrict the deck to the MPAA ratings you pick (e.g. G, PG, PG-13); leave it empty to allow any rating.

Lifeline gift. An optional safety net in elimination rounds — prefilled with Galaxy, or clear it to disable. Each send banks one immunity charge for that chatter, up to 3. When a reveal would eliminate them, one charge is spent instead and they’re spared — but a saved player earns no streak point, since the gift bought survival, not progress. Lifelines have no effect in points mode.

Layout

  1. Marquee — game title and a rotating how-to hint.
  2. Lifeline strip — shows which gifts grant immunity (elimination mode only, when configured).
  3. Vote-split bar — live tally of lower (left) vs higher (right) votes.
  4. Anchor card — the reference card, value shown.
  5. Challenger card — the hidden card; its value reads ? ? ? until reveal.
  6. VS divider — pulses during voting; on reveal it flips to HIGHER or LOWER.
  7. Voter piles — avatars of who voted each side.

The game moves through Lobby → Voting → Revealed → Finished.

Gifts

Higher or Lower uses the stadium-immunity lifeline. It’s off unless the host configures it.

A shield meter filling to three, then spending one shield to survive an elimination
Each gift banks a shield (max 3); one is spent to survive a reveal that would eliminate you
  • Sending a configured gift grants the viewer +1 immunity, stockpiled up to 3.
  • When a reveal would eliminate them, one immunity is spent instead and they survive (“@viewer saved”).
  • A saved round does not earn a correct-call credit — the gift buys survival, not progress.

Lifelines only matter in elimination mode.

Scoring

The mode you pick decides how a winner emerges — outlast everyone, or outscore them.

Left: an elimination funnel narrowing to one winner. Right: points bars with the highest total marked winner
Elimination narrows the room to the last player standing; points crowns the highest total
  • Each correct call adds to the viewer’s per-streamer win count (which drives avatar ring tiers).
  • Elimination: the last survivor (or survivors, if tied) wins; the game also ends if the deck is exhausted.
  • Points: the highest total when the deck runs out wins.
  • Ties at the top are listed as co-winners. Wins are tracked per streamer.
